Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI assisted in-game and store-page visuals, plus music.
Store page texts and localization drafts were prepared with the help of AI tools, and parts of the game's source code were written with AI coding assistants — all of it reviewed, edited and tested by the developer. All art, game design and audio are human-made. The in-game opponent is a custom neural network trained by the developer through self-play (a chess-engine-style game AI, not generative AI).
The game's code was written with the help of an AI coding assistant, following the developer's design direction. Because the characters, arenas, materials and user interface are generated procedurally in code rather than authored as art assets, they are a result of that same process. The background music tracks were generated with Suno (commercial licence). Sound effects are licensed from Mixkit and Freesound. Nothing is generated by AI while the game is running.
During development, parts of Marsheez were made with generative AI: some of the source code was written with the help of an AI coding assistant, and some of the art and music were created with help of AI tools and then later edited by the developer. The game does not use any generative AI while you play.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with some visual assets, audio, and code. All content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
Some graphics and artwork have been made using Ai
In early development, the game included some AI-generated graphical elements while I waited for a professional artist's work. I am now gradually integrating that work, but the process is not yet finished. AI also generated the game's English, German, and French localizations from the original Ukrainian text, and later proofread by a human.
Some pre-rendered assets were created with the help of generative AI during development: 2D line-art images (mascot sprites, badges, store artwork), portions of the game code, and drafts of store/in-game text (human-reviewed). Nothing is generated at runtime, and the game never connects to any AI service while you play. Sound effects are procedurally synthesized without AI.
Graphics (sprites, logo, artwork) were generated with Google Gemini API models, then curated, edited, and integrated by the developer. Music and sound effects were generated locally with ACE-Step 1.5, directed, curated, and post-processed by the developer. No AI runs during gameplay.
Artwork used on the Steam store page was created with the assistance of generative AI and was subsequently manually edited, refined, and improved. AI tools were also used to assist with the localization of the Steam store page.
Generative AI was used to help write portions of this game's text content, and parts of this store page. All game code, visuals, music, and sound design were created directly by the developer without generative AI. AI was used to help debug and troubleshoot code.
This game's music was created with the assistance of generative AI. The interface and Enemy Guide text were also translated into multiple languages with AI assistance, alongside human review. No AI-generated artwork or gameplay code ships in the final game.
Some 2D artwork shipping in this game was created with the assistance of generative AI image tools, then edited by hand before inclusion. This applies to a portion of card illustrations and UI decorative elements. All such assets were checked for quality and rights compliance prior to shipping. This game does not generate any content with AI at runtime. The computer opponent is a conventional rules-based system, not a generative AI model.
Rhythm Nebula's chart generation runs totally offline, on your local hardware. None of the art, music, or other assets are AI-generated.
Procedural and AI tools used to assist in some content creation
Generative AI was used to assist in the creation of some promotional artwork and to help with the writing and localization of certain text. All such content was reviewed and, where necessary, edited before use. No AI-generated content is created in real time during gameplay.

AI was used for inspiration in logos and lore refinement.
Some of this game's shipped assets were created with the assistance of generative AI and then manually curated and edited by the developers: background artwork (landscape silhouettes), the current music tracks (temporary, until our hand-crafted soundtrack is finished), and parts of the English localization. No content is generated by AI at runtime, and the game does not connect to any AI services.
We've harnessed the power of Generative AI technology to create several of our game's theme background artworks
Some visual assets and music used in this game were created with the assistance of generative AI. All AI-generated content was reviewed, if needed edited, and curated by the developer before being included in the game.
The English translation of the store page was created using generative AI.
Parts of this game's content were created with generative AI tools: - 3D models and their textures (towers, enemies, terrain and scenery props) were generated with Meshy AI, then hand-adjusted and assembled by the developer. - The English localization was AI-translated from the original Chinese text and then reviewed by the developer. - Some in-game flavor text (event, relic and achievement descriptions) was drafted with an AI writing assistant. - Some store page and marketing artwork was produced with AI image tools. All of this content is generated ahead of time and ships as fixed assets. The game does not generate any content live during play and does not connect to any AI service at runtime. Sound effects and music are procedurally synthesized by our own scripts and are not AI-generated.
Graphic material for the end screen and cover.
The localization of this game was created using AI translation tools.
Some assets in Crown Cribbage were made with the help of generative AI tools: - in-game music was generated with AI music tools - capsule/key art - marketing copy drafts - assistance with programming One point of emphasis: The computer opponents in this game are not generative AI. They are hand-written heuristics, a fixed set of rules for discarding and pegging, tuned by difficulty. They see only what you see. They do not look at your hand, and nothing about them is generated while you play. No AI content of any kind is created during a match.
Some visual and audio content was created using AI.
3D models for props and buildings have been generated with code developed by AI. The game splash screens and logo have been generated by AI. Music is generated live with code developed by AI.
Includes AI generated music tracks.
Some narration and localization were created with the assistance of generative AI. The game does not use AI to generate content during gameplay.
Generative AI was used to create some temporary artwork for the Steam store page and related marketing materials while the game is still in production. These assets are reviewed and curated by the development team and WILL be replaced with final production artwork before release. Generative AI is not used to generate content during gameplay.
AI was used to create textures, some of the code, create a player model and rig it for animation. The sounds of footsteps, goals and ball bounces, albeit mastered, started as AI generated before being edited and mastered. Localization languages were also created by AI. (Therefore any corrections will be welcome) Animations, music, game design, and all other elements of creativity are the work of a human exclusively. Badgerworks Studios will never rely on AI for creativity, music, ideas for games, and once an artist has been hired, AI models either. Due to lack of in-house ability to rig models or create them from scratch, the current player model was generated and rigged (skeleton matched to model) by AI. Animations were hand made, but on the AI created and rigged model. No AI, LLM, of frontier models are being called during game play nor will any introduced features be allowed to do so.
Generative AI was used to assist with preparing translations and to support the development of the game's code.
Some store-page text and marketing images (capsules, screenshots, and similar key art) were drafted or generated with generative AI, then selected and edited by the developer. The game itself is a hand-authored Unreal Engine title. Combat, physics, and play are not generated by AI while you play. There is no live generative AI in the build. If later updates include AI-assisted in-game art or audio, this notice will be updated.
Terran Dawn is a solo-developed game, and generative AI tools were used during its production. Everything AI-assisted is created ahead of time and shipped as fixed files inside the build: the game generates nothing while you play, contacts no AI service at runtime, and sends no player data anywhere. Where these tools were used: - 3D assets: ship, station and building meshes were produced with AI text-to-3D generation, then rescaled, re-oriented, re-textured and hand-corrected to fit the engine. - 2D art and textures: interface illustrations, encyclopedia art and some surface textures were generated from hand-written prompts and edited afterwards. - Sound effects: a portion of the weapon, interface and explosion sounds were generated with AI audio tools, then trimmed and mixed by hand. - Music: the soundtrack was created with AI music generation. - Voice-over: mission briefings and in-mission radio lines are AI text-to-speech, performed from scripts written by the developer. - Video transmissions: the in-game character broadcasts use a licensed synthetic presenter and synthetic voice to deliver dialogue written by the developer. - Translation: the game's text was translated into its supported languages with the help of an AI language model. - Some of the game's source code was written with AI coding assistants. The game's design, story, missions, rules and balance are written by the developer. No generative AI runs while the game is playing.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with programming and implementation. The developer created the original game and codebase, with AI assistance used to modify and expand portions of the code, including implementation of the graphics and other visual/gameplay elements.
Some of the art assets in TETWORD were created with the help of generative AI tools. Certain textures and 2D artwork were produced using AI image-generation tools, and some 3D models were generated using Meshy AI. Generative AI assistants (ChatGPT and Claude) were also used during development. All AI-assisted assets were reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer before being included in the game. The game's design, code, gameplay, and word content were created by the developer.
Some visual assets and text content used in this game were created or assisted by generative artificial intelligence tools. All AI-generated content has been reviewed, edited, and integrated by the development team to ensure consistency with the game's design and quality standards.
Generative AI was used as a development aid, including assistance with code.
In Glow Tail, we utilized AI generated content for certain elements, such as capsule images, library assets, and the game icon.
AI tools are used during development to help streamline our team's workflow. All in-game content is created and reviewed by our development team.
Portions of this game's content were created with the assistance of generative AI tools under human direction and review. This includes much but not all of the visual artwork, the soundtrack, and the store page text and marketing copy. All AI-assisted content was curated, edited, and approved by the developer.
Generative AI was used to assist in the creation of pre-rendered 2D assets, including the store page capsule art, library images, trailer assets, and in-game loading screens.
Generative AI was used for two in-game mood posters and some store page graphics.
Generative AI was used during development to create and iterate on selected pre-rendered 2D artwork, environmental textures, decals, and billboard/sign graphics. These assets were selected, edited, processed, and integrated by the developer. No AI content is generated during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services.
All visual assets, audio, course designs / implementations are human created. The aim was to ensure all creative elements were human created with the majority coming from the original Xbox Indie Game. Generative AI was used to port between the now defunct Xbox Indie (XGFW) platform to a modern platform (MonoGame) and to move to modern graphics cards (shaders). It was also used to add additional, optional, CRT visual modes and to do non-creative changes including identifying and resolving bugs and optimising play to improve framerate and minimum requirements.
Generative AI tools were used during the development of ScrapBound to assist with the creation of some visual and audio assets. AI-generated imagery was used as a starting point for various game assets, which were then modified, edited, and integrated to fit the game's visual style. Many of these assets will over time be replaced as the development of the game continues.
Game logo and achievements logo were generated by AI
- AI coding agents were used to assist with general game programming for Sudden Death Golf in order to iterate over gameplay ideas faster as a solo dev - Some parts of in-game UI/UX design were created with the assist of AI - No 3D models or textures were made with AI. Most were made by hand by me, some were bought or commissioned
