Public Steam disclosure research 25,514 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Placeholder Images, which will be removed before make public.
The game's promotional artwork was based on our original designs, with AI used only for visual enhancement and refinement.
Some assets/models and textures in this game were generated using artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
This game includes some AI-assisted music and Steam store marketing assets created during development. All such content was reviewed and integrated by the developer. No AI-generated content is created during gameplay, and players cannot generate AI content within the game.
Generative artificial intelligence was employed during pre-production and development to create concept art, historical background illustrations, and compose the soundtrack. Additionally, AI was used to generate initial base meshes for select 3D models, which were then fully refined, textured, and optimized manually by the development team.
AI Used for 3D models and shader creation, UI Logic and Huge amount of Testing-player Bots. (This is a Solo Dev Game)
We use claude/codex to help us translate our story to other languages. Members of the development team speak these languages: - English - Romanian Outside of these languages, all story is translated with the help of AI. The narrative itself is being written by one of the developers and without the help of AI
For the store page and in-game multilingual texts, the Simplified Chinese version was written entirely by the developer. All other languages (Traditional Chinese, English, Russian, French, Japanese, and Latin American Spanish) were translated with the assistance of generative AI. All core content of the game (mechanic design, scene construction, character and story development, art assets, and audio) was independently created by the developer. AI was used solely for language localization and did not participate in the generation of any other content.
The promotional image was created using AI
AI was used to troubleshoot coding issues, generate some game model assets, and some UI elements. All code, models, and UI elements were edited and finalized by me before implementation into the game.
The game does not contain AI-generated content. AI-generated content is used just for Steam cover.
We used Generative AI to create additional and original character designs or to create objects such as obstacles.
Some store page marketing images, capsule assets, and promotional screenshots were created or edited with generative AI and then reviewed and adjusted for layout, sizing, and text. The game does not use live generative AI during gameplay, and it does not connect to any third-party AI service while players are playing.
Some of the promotional and storefront images were created with AI tools and then refined by hand. All of the in-game assets were designed by a 3D artist. Some of the audio files are AI generated.
Some promotional art assets and in-game artwork were created with the assistance of AI image generation tools. All AI-generated output was reviewed, edited, and curated by the development team before inclusion.
AI has been used to translate the game in multiple languages so the story can be enjoyed by more people.
The game was vibe coded. Many of the current assets were generated by various GenAI models, some of which will be staying but some of which are just placeholders for the time being. Much manual work still goes into making everything look good and come together even when using GenAI.
Generative AI (a large language model) was used to assist in drafting text content — store page descriptions, in-game text, and marketing copy — and to assist with code. All output was reviewed and edited by the developer. Game art is from licensed/CC0 asset packs and procedural rendering; audio is procedurally synthesized. No AI-generated imagery or audio ships in the game, and no AI is generated live at runtime.
Artificial intelligence tools were used to create sound effects, textures, and images.
We have used AI tools for sound effects and for parts of the store page art.
I use procedural AI tools to assist with some content creation, but the final product entirely reflects my own creative vision as a solo developer.
AI was used solely for the production of certain promotional materials.
We have used generative artificial intelligence to help code the game.
The informant's AI audio files are used on trains.
Some 2D store and marketing assets — such as store capsule images, achievement icons, and key art — were created using AI image-generation tools and then refined and composited by hand. All gameplay, code, level design, and game systems are made by the developer without generative AI. All AI-assisted assets are reviewed to ensure they are appropriate and comply with Steam's rules.
This game was developed with the assistance of generative AI (Claude) in the following ways: - Authoring and editing C# scripts for game systems - Translation of in-game text into English and Chinese - Debugging and optimization assistance No AI runs at runtime within the game itself.
English (AI Disclosure) This game includes AI-assisted NPC dialogue and text generation to create dynamic conversations and world events. AI-generated text is reviewed and integrated by the developer before release. The game does not generate images, audio, or code on the player's device. AI is used to enhance dialogue variety and immersive world interactions while core gameplay, progression, and game systems are designed by the developer.
Solvizz was designed, written, and hand-crafted by a small team, but generative AI played a supporting role in parts of production. Specifically, some placeholder art (achievement icons, region glyph references) and placeholder audio (background music tracks and sound effects) were generated with AI tooling to prototype the game's mood before final assets. AI was also used as a coding assistant during development. All puzzle design, game mechanics, story, level content, and code decisions were authored and reviewed by humans. No player-submitted data is sent to any AI system at runtime — the game is fully offline. (This text was also generated with the help of AI)
Generative AI was used during the development of this game to assist with: - Generating static illustrations for in-game achievement icons. - Generating placeholder sound effects to be swapped before exiting EA
AI Artwork
Localization, images and some 3d models
Some of the games text was drafted with the assistance of generative AI and then edited by hand by developers before inclusion. The game's audio is procedurally synthesized in-engine (algorithmic DSP) and layered with real & recorded audio by the developers. not produced by a generative AI model. Some of the games 3D model primitive shapes were drafted with the assistance of generative AI, but finalized by hand.
I used AI to help review code and check for any bugs. Also a few small pieces of art that will be changed/updated by release while we get artists commissioned.
This game contains some AI-generated backgrounds and icons. Apart from that, all card art, characters, and 3D models are hand-crafted.
This game uses AI generated content for UI elements, imagery, and a small amount of dialogue.
EVE Vanguard uses AI-generated text-to-speech (TTS) for certain voice-over content, including character barks and narration. These assets are created under the direction of the development team to support the game's production and player experience. All writing, gameplay, worldbuilding, and overall creative vision are authored and curated by the game’s developers.
Some asset textures, background music, and assistance with game development questions include AI-generated content. No AI translation was used for Japanese, English, Korean, or Czech.
Ai was used to help generate artwork for the steam page
Gen AI was used for coding, models, textures, dialogue, audio, music and brainstorming
This game includes live-generated AI features that run locally on the player's computer and do not rely on external AI services. The game uses AI to: - interpret the player's spoken voice commands in real time to support gameplay interactions; - generate voice audio for in-game pilot communications in real time. The AI systems are used exclusively for these gameplay functions. They do not generate user-visible images, text, or other open-ended content. The game is designed so that AI-generated output is limited to its intended gameplay purpose and cannot be used to create illegal, infringing, or otherwise prohibited content.
Every character's facial image and some of the gallery's artworks were created with AI.
Community items were generated using artificial intelligence.
Some of the in-game arts, such as assets which also shown on screenshots and store capsules were modified from AI-generated imagery.
This game makes extensive use of generative AI for nearly all player-facing content. All assets, textures, shaders, fonts, some animations, sound effects, and music are fully generated using AI tools and then integrated and refined within the game. As a core rule of the project, everything the player sees and hears has to be AI-generated. Game design, mechanics, level design, and technical implementation are created and controlled by the developer. AI is used as a content creation tool and does not dynamically generate gameplay content or influence player experience in real time. No personal player data is processed by AI systems during gameplay.
Generative artificial intelligence was used in the creation of some images and video assets in the game. The production process of the promotional images on the store page utilized generative artificial intelligence. The voice-over materials for the game were produced using generative artificial intelligence.
Yes. Geoplanetical is a solo project, just me. I use generative AI in a few places. It helps me translate the game and this Steam page into other languages, though I check every translation myself. It also helps me research and format the game's real world starting data, which comes from public sources like the World Bank, the IMF and Natural Earth, and I verify all of that data myself too. The character portraits, around 60,000 of them, are generated with AI. The promotional images and text on this store page were made with AI as well. That's it. Nothing else in the game uses generative AI, and none of it runs while you play. If you want to know where the rest of the game's content comes from, like the real world datasets, the hand made assets and the Creative Commons icons, it's all documented in the About section inside the game.
